In the fifth annual assessment, Oklahoma achieved a 35th place ranking nationally. Four years ago Oklahoma was ranked 48th in bicycle friendliness. Oklahoma’s bicyclists, along with state agencies and other groups set the goal of improving Oklahoma’s ranking. “In 2011 we ranked 43th,” said Oklahoma Bike Summit Chairman Kevin Mussett, Stillwater. “Jumping 8 places to 35th in one year is the result of a lot of hard work by bicyclists, Oklahoma Department of Transportation, and the Legislature, all working together,” Mussett said.
